About Wynberg Rotaract

Service, friendship, and stories of our own — Rotary for 18–30s in Cape Town's southern suburbs.

Who we are

Wynberg Rotaract is a community of 18–30s in Cape Town's southern suburbs who put their time and skills into local service projects. We're part of Rotaract — the youth wing of Rotary International — and a member club of District 9350, which covers the Western and Northern Cape, Namibia and Angola.

What we do

Hands-on service in Cape Town's southern suburbs — alone and in partnership with Rotaract clubs across the Cape. Our work tracks the same seven causes that Rotary International has anchored on for decades:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Improve maternal and child health
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies
  • Protect the environment

Recent work: a 10,000-sandwich drive on a single Saturday morning with the Rotaract clubs of Blouberg and Claremont, which closed out at 11,852 sandwiches distributed across the Cape. Up next: Uncle Paul's Christmas Party at Groot Constantia — our anchor fundraiser.

Part of a global movement

Rotaract is the 18–30 wing of Rotary International — 200,000+ members in 8,300+ clubs across more than 180 countries. Same ethos as the older Rotary clubs: service, fellowship, integrity — with the energy and voice of a younger generation.

For more than a century, Rotary has used the same simple formula: ordinary professionals, neighbours and students putting their skills into local projects that compound globally. Rotaract is that formula at the 18–30 end of the curve.

Service. Friendship. Stories of our own.

Wynberg Rotaract is local first — rooted in Cape Town's southern suburbs — but plugged into the global Rotary and Rotaract networks. As a member you'll find a supportive crew, hands-on work that adds up to something visible, and a route into Rotary's wider family if and when you want to go deeper.
